Paul Riggs (Riggsy) Memorial

The Paul Riggs Memorial Fairest & Best Trophy, is an award to commemorate the life of one of AKA (NT) and DKA's , prolific characters in karting - Paul Riggs.

Paul was the State Technical Adviser as well as a competitor and keen motor sport enthusiast. Paul valued both fairness and competitiveness in karting.

The award promotes the sport of karting by giving those competitors in the DKA that have competed to the best of their ability whilst behaving in a manner that inculcates sportsmanship and fair play on the track.

After the running of each Darwin Karting Association championship round, the Clerk of Course and the stewards of the meeting convene to award a joint 3,2,1 score to the "fairest" and "best" karter of the race meeting.

A perpetual trophy is inscribed, with the winners name's and year. The perpetual trophy is maintained at the DKA Club room. Each winner also receives an individual trophy as a personal keepsake.

This award has only run from 2012 season.
